URGENT MISSION UPDATE: CAN YOU HELP WITH MAYFIELD, KENTUCKY’S RECOVERY?
If you are like me, times of disaster move you to help!
In September 2001, I met a man in NYC at the Family Assistance Center who was part of an organization called Christian Disaster Response (CDR). He and I were volunteers there for different organizations, but we had an instant connection.
CDR is an organization that I am pleased to recommend when it comes to giving donations in times of disaster. After going through their training, I know they operate with excellence. Their teams of volunteers raise their own support, and since no one takes a salary, all donations go directly to the needs of the victims! On the ground, they pray with people who desire prayer, but they do not go to disaster sites to make converts of those traumatized by their circumstances. They go in to help. That is something I really appreciate and respect.
If you want to help the community of Mayfield and surrounding areas that have endured unthinkable tragedy from the tornado outbreak, there is no one I would recommend more than this team. You can give your gift directly to them at https://cdresponse.org/2021/12/14/mayfield-kentucky-tornado-relief/ (They don’t have a lot written on the website because their webmaster has been stuck in Albania since March 2020, but do feel free to contact CDR’s director, Dr. Ron Patterson, for more information.)
I will also be taking donations through my website if you prefer to send a gift together. Both are tax-deductible.
Thank you for your thoughtful consideration!
In the Father’s love,
