By Barbara Sependa God’s Word is sharper than any two edged sword, and it is His Word that is able to cut through to divide soul and spirit, joint and marrow. It is the Holy Spirit that brings us the revelation of God’s word and teaches us all things. Jesus promised that He would ask the Father to send the Holy Spirit and that He would lead us into all truth. Jesus knew that without the Holy Spirit we would be as lost sheep without a shepherd. Jesus also knew that we would need the Holy Spirit, as we would not be able to understand things of the spirit without Him. Man would be left to the souls interpretation of things that can only be understood by the spirit. To discern the word of God is to discern the truth about Jesus the Mighty Son of God. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword. It penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow It judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hosea 14:9 Whoever is wise, let him understand these things; whoever is discerning, let him know them. For the ways of the Lord are right, and the righteous will walk in them, but transgressors will stumble in them.
